Control Student Authoring Privileges in Conferences
At any time you can grant and remove students' authoring privileges.  To avoid confusion, please simply let students know when you make changes.  This control is accessed when either creating or editing a conference.

Control the Size of a Conference to Avoid Data Loss  (Important)
The maximum number of notes allowed per conference (all Responses and Main Topics combined) is approximately 200. More than that risks technical difficulties. As faculty, you are able to delete conference messages at any time.  Be aware that deleting a conference note will also delete all responses made to that note. However, deleting will not remove notes in the thread preceeding the deleted note.  Another way to control conference size is to change the status to Read Only (go to Faculty Center, Manage Conferences, and Edit the conference of your choice)  after your desired amount of time for discussion has passed.

Character Limit
Keep in mind that there is a limit to the amount (~30K-35K) of text that can fit within these text boxes. Anything larger should  be attached as a file for submission.  Attempts to submit textual material larger than this will result in loss of text.

Delete a Conference

  1. Click on Faculty Center on the Class Menu
  2. Click Manage
    conf_fac_center
  3. Click Delete beside the conference you wish to delete
    conf_delete
  4. You will be asked whether you really wish to delete this conference
  5. If you click OK, you will be returned to the Manage Conferences view and the deleted conference will be gone.  Return to top of page.

Delete a Conference Note
Sometimes, as faculty member, you may find a student has posted a conference note that you wish to remove from the conference. You may do this, but keep in mind that all notes responding to that note will also be deleted.
